I have applied for the Royal Engineers and I'm looking to do electrical training. My question is "Once I have completed phase 1, 2 and 3 training and I'm at my first posting will I be doing electrical work everyday or not really. If that's the case then what kind of day to day work would I be doing?" I also want the opportunity to work / live abroad so will training to be an electrician allow me that army lifestyle or not really? Thanks.
Fantastic question.
As with most trades in the Army, you almost definitely won't just be doing your trade every day. The amount of trade work you do will depend on the unit you are posted to, but you'll also get opportunities for sport, AT, travel, and all the other benefits that come with being in the Army.
