That's a good question but it is very difficult to say! It depends on what part of the parachute regiment you are in, if you are on high-readiness or operational commitments, or what kind of exercises you are taking part in.
You can certainly expect to be training overseas with our allies, including in places like the USA and across Europe, but exercise can range from a few days to a few weeks so it is hard to put a number on it.

Thank you. What about the para 3 regiment ?
3 Para is part of 16 Air Assault Brigade, which is a high-readiness part of the army. This means they expect to be deployed at quite short notice and have to be trained and maintained at a very high standard. I think it would be reasonable to expect to be overseas quite a lot with that role.
So in para 3 how often would you say he’d be away and for how long roughly? Sorry my partner is joining and I’m just worried
