Hello, the best way to explain it is that you get preference not choice. You will ultimately be based where you are needed but you will have the opportunity to say what region you want to be based in. It will also depend on the availability of jobs for your chosen job role in the area you want to work. However, some regiments are based in specific locations and you will not have the option to be positioned out of the regiment till latter in a career. Thanks. If you have any other questions please let me know.

As a lefty will I Netanyahu left handed equipment when I join or will I have to do everything right-handed. I am aware that the SA80 can only be fired right handed but does the British army issue lefthanded glock sidearm holsters and other such items so that a left handed person can be more effective in combat?

Hello. Everybody will be relatively new to training so if you are forced by the nature of the equipment or task to use a specific hand then you will not be at a disadvantage . Likewise throughout the Army both left and right handed people will be required to use the opposite hand as they will have been trained to do so. Typically there will be a reason and you will have ample time to train to become effective.
