Warfighting is one of the many responsibilities of the Army. It is part of the job and all our soldiers are trained, at minimum, in dismounted close combat. However, this does not mean that you will definitely be employed in warfighting. For example, we are not currently at war and many soldiers have never deployed in a warfighting capacity outside of training.
