Finance Graduate Roles – British Army

Bradley G. asked a question to Carl S.

I’m a recent Accounting & Finance graduate and I’m keen to explore whether the British Army offers any graduate opportunities within finance, accounting, or financial management. I would be grateful if you could advise whether there are any relevant officer or specialist pathways available for finance graduates, and what the entry requirements and progression routes look like

Firstly, congratulations on your qualification. The Army's finance specialists are the Staff and Personnel Support (SPS), a branch of the Adjutant's General Corps. As an SPS officer, you would be responsible for advising commanders on how best to employ the Army's public and charitable funds, as well as ensuring that Army personnel are well looked after. If you wished to specialise further, the Army offers a Strategic Management Accountancy pathway that would see you qualify with the Chartered institute of Management Accountants, bringing both military and financial expertise to bear in advising on the best use of the Army's budget.
