    Study Leave?

The Army will provide all the courses you need for your relevant role as and when required. If there is an external qualification/course you want, you might qualify for SLC or ELC (standard or advanced learning credits) which will cover most of the cost with some personal contribution required. in this case leave for a short time maybe granted by your managers.

If you want to conduct some sort of extra OU style of course then that is something you will have to manage around your Army career.

However, this is just to my knowledge, I'm not an expert in this subject.

For instance if I happen to join while in my final year in university.

I'm I eligible for a short leave after which I could join the army directly.

    I'm from uganda

    ah okay,

Have you already applied to join the Army? If so, do you have a start date? If that's the case and you want some time off then you should contact your recruiter ASAP and see if you can change the start date.

If you haven't applied yet, fine. You can apply at any point (after you finish uni).

One thing to bare in mind. It can take 3-9 months from application to get a start date. Due to medical checks, interviews and other procedures.

I applied last year and my application is still being processed so I haven't got a start date yet

Okay, you'll have to discuss that with your recruiter.
