How much time do you spend doing your trade I’m interested in joining being In Royal Engineers being a Digital Communication technician but on groups and Reddit and stuff I’ve read that you spend no time doing your trade after your initial training in it and then after you leave the army you have no practical work experience in your role and would struggle doing a civilian job even though you have the qualifications also I was wondering if it’s likely to be based overseas because I’d prefer to stay in the UK

This can vary depending on your role, location and day-to-day responsibilities. If you're not carrying out trade-specific tasks, you'll likely be developing your soldiering skills, taking part in physical training and continuing your professional development.
The qualifications and skills you gain in the Army are recognised by civilian employers.
While you'll be based at a UK location, there may be opportunities to travel overseas on exercises or operational deployments, so it's worth considering whether that lifestyle would suit you.
