I am thinking of my first career, I want to go to collage and then become an infantry officer. When joining can you select what regiment you would like to join?

It's really up to you if you attend college first or not.
Looking from the inside out. Personally, i'd always say join as early as possible. Why? The experience and ability to up skill your academic studies whilst getting paid to do in whilst in the Army.
Can you select a Regiment, in short yes. Long, no. You will get a preference, if it's available you'll get it.
