Mia K. asked a question to Josh S.
Hey Mia, thanks for your question. Currently there is no direct pathway for civilian paramedics to join the regular Army, but there is an option to join the Army Reserve. Regular paramedics are selected from the Combat Medic employment group and receive their university qualification and clinical training as an in-service degree. Whilst Regular paramedics are selected from currently serving Combat Medics, Army Reserve paramedics are recruited direct as fully qualified civilian paramedics. Therefore, the only opportunity for civilian qualified paramedics to join the Army in role, is within the Army Reserve as a soldier. This would be via 335 Medical Evacuation Regiment in York which is a nationally recruited Unit. Hope that helps. Josh
