I’m Muslim and I’d like to understand how faith is supported during training and service. Also, is there anyone currently serving that I could speak to about their experience?

Thank you for your question, it's really important to know that you will be supported in your faith when you are looking to work anywhere.

The short answer is that being a Muslim is definitely compatible with military service and there are lots of Muslims currently serving in the army. In fact, there is a network for exactly those people called the Armed Forces Muslim Association (AFMA).

The army provides guidance on a whole host of religious topics such as observing Ramadan during basic military training and adjustments to dress regulations and, although it is really important to note that operational output will always be the most important thing to consider, for most people it is absolutely possible to observe their faith while serving.

If you start the application process, your Career Support Manager should be able to put you in touch with one of our Muslim recruiters.
