Money isn't the be all or end all, however the military does provide some great benefits such as free access to gym facilities, dental care, healthcare and subsidised accommodation and food.

Although being a block paver isn't a job role within the army there are plenty of roles in engineering such as a bricklayer and jobs in other areas too. It is important to do your research beforehand and maybe even book in to your local careers office to discuss your interests and qualifications, they will be able to tell you what job roles you are more suited and qualified for.

Even if a job role is something you've never done before but it interests you, all training and qualifications are provided free of charge and you'll learn extra skills within the army to help improve your employability after your time in service.

With each job there are different pay scales and each promotion and year you spend in the Army the more you get paid often resulting in getting more for doing the same job out in the civilian world with extra benefits.
