I am a Royal Engineer with 12 years of experience. The Army offers a variety of engineering roles across different Corps. The Royal Engineers primarily provide trade engineering roles such as electricians, plumbers, and bricklayers, although these are not exclusive. In addition to their trade, every Royal Engineer also qualifies as a Combat Engineer.
If you are more interested in vehicle engineering, the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) specialise in trades related to vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
My advice is to visit the Army Jobs website, explore the roles available in both Corps, and consider which path suits you best. I hope this helps.
