Anonymous asked a question to Claire W.
I’m interested in the intelligence officer role wasn’t sure who best to ask as I have a couple of questions? What is Leave and Family Time like in training and once training is over ? What would be the start time frame? (as currently at Uni doing a Masters in Disaster Management, Security and Intelligence and doesn’t end till the summer) Where would I be based after training (or does it depend) Thanks
Thanks for asking your question. The best people to talk to are the Intelligence Corps themselves so I would defiantly recommend sending them and email on intcorpshq-recruitment-mailbox@mod.gov.uk.
The timeline to join is the timeline to get to Sandhurst (if you want to be an officer) which can take quite a few months, and for some over a year, depending on how quickly you pass the selection elements. You would then apply to join the Int Corps at RMAS as you are going through the course.
Leave and family time during training varies but it usually starts of being less time with weekends here and there and then, as you go through RMAS and then phase two, it gets more relaxed with chunks of leave around summer and Christmas for example, and long weekends.
After you have completed your training there are loads of places in the UK and overseas you could find yourself posted in the Int Corps so you won't just be at Chicksands.
