Thank you for your question, it is really important to feel that you will be accepted in any job and the British Army is no different.
The most important thing to say is that there is no place in the Army for bullying. It just isn't accepted. One of our values is 'respect for others' and bullying is simply not compatible with that. There are many ways in which people can report behaviour they consider unacceptable and these reports are taken seriously.
The army can be physically and mentally tough, but that is part of training and sometimes the nature of operations. There is absolutely no reason why the way soldiers treat each other should add to the difficulty, and we would always expect personnel to act appropriately and to work together as a team.
If bullying is a concern, I would definitely encourage you to talk to some soldiers about their experiences. In my own experience, wherever there has been unacceptable behaviour, and this has been incredibly rare, it has been shut down and responded to appropriately.
