Is the military seen as a home?

I understand through the week you will sleep and stay there constantly until typically the weekends. I have also heard during the weekends you get time on your own to either see family or stay. Does this mean if I choose to stay there then would it just be like a home? Continuing to eat, sleep and go out but without all the rules?

Hello and thanks for your question.

Yes, when you have a weekend off, it's completely up to you how you spend it. Many soldiers choose to stay on camp at weekends, so you certainly wouldn't be alone.

Army camps have a real community feel, and for many soldiers they become a home away from home ๐Ÿ˜Š

Would this also apply to Catterick or are they stricter?
