Hi, I’ll keep it quick. I’m 26 years old, been working in film and TV since I finished A-Levels. Work is very dry and I’m considering a career change. I have become obsessed with geopolitics and world events, which is why the intelligence role interests me. I also like the idea of going in a completely different direction but still having the opportunity to change again once I leave the army. Thanks for getting in touch with us. The simple answer is, as long as you are under the age limit set by the army, you are not too old.
Although the average age of those in basic training for a Regular army role is usually late teens or early twenties, there will certainly be older people going through training with you. I was in my late twenties when I completed my initial training.
For the Reserves the age limit is higher again so the average age is slightly higher.
