Wages due to me having a good wage and a mortgage now

I would love to join as a driver I have all my HGV licenses and ADR but with me having a mortgage etc £26k a year would not survive so my question being with me already having these licenses to be a driver in the army would I be paid a more adequate wage? I’m struggling to understand why wages are so low to serve for our country? Thank you

Unfortunately you will be paid the initial wage for the trade you choose and then the wage progresses each year and on promotion. If it is not financially viable for you to join the Regular Army but you wish to serve maybe consider Reserve service around you current job Army Reserve
