Day to day roles vary depending on where you go after training, you may be attached to a field hospital, a medical regiment or after you have been to one of these you may be attached to a unit working in a medical centre doing primary healthcare. In a medical regiment you be expected to treat and transport casualties from one place to another, a field hospital you'll be expected to set up a hospital and treat casualties that come into you.
As for deployments there is lots of them but you'll have to meet certain requirements by completing courses etc. and when you do go they can vary between 4-6 weeks to 6-8 months.
