    In short, it depends!

The day-to-day of an RLC soldier can vary depending on trade, posting, and role.

The RLC has 12 trades that are available to join (with more available once you're serving). They each have different responsibilities. As a very brief overview:

    • Supply Chain Operator - Managing the Army's kit and equipment.
    • Movement Controller - Managing the transport of people, vehicles, and equipment.
    • Driver - Driving and maintaining the Army's vehicles.
    • Driver Communications Specialist - Managing the Army's communication equipment.
    • Driver Air Despatch - Transporting and delivering equipment by air.
    • Petroleum Operator - Managing the Army's fuels.
    • Port Operator - Working in the Army's port logistics.
    • Mariner - Driving the Army's boats.
    • Marine Engineer - Maintaining the Army's boats.
    • Ammunition Technician - Maintaining the Army's ammunition and explosives.
    • Postal and Courier Operator - Managing the Army's mail.
    • Chef - Keeping the Army fed.

RLC soldiers don't always do their trade, either: there are many other opportunities like running military training, adventurous training, representing their Corps at sports, and recruiting, to name a few.
