what does the day to day life look like working in admistration?

Is there mandatory training, such as physical training? And do you have to be medically fit to work in admin

Great question. Day-to-day life in the AGC(SPS) is incredibly varied, but at its core it’s about looking after people, information, and resources within a unit. You’ll typically be working as part of a small HR/admin team embedded in a regiment or unit, supporting both soldiers and officers.

    A normal day can include:

    • Managing personnel records (postings, leave, career)
    • Ensuring soldiers are paid correctly and receive the right allowances
    • Advising commanders on staffing, welfare, and readiness
    • Working with data and systems to support decision-making
    • Supporting exercises or deployments (which can involve working in the field)

No two days are exactly the same, and roles can range from steady office-based work in the UK to supporting operations overseas. Of course this means that administrators are also required to be physically fit. Fitness is not only necessary for your role, but also makes Army life more enjoyable and rewarding. Fortunately, there are loads of opportunities to exercise in work time with your colleagues.
