    Artillery Surveillance Observer is a technical role which involves spotting enemy artillery using weapon locating radars and sensors. The role involves operating advanced equipment, analysing the data, and passing the data onwards to commanders, essentially becoming the eyes and ears of the battlefield. 

    Whereas the patrols specialist observer, once passing a patrols selection course, will operate in small teams deep within enemy territory spotting enemy artillery and high value targets for friendly forces to engage.
