There is a variety of accommodation available to soldiers, depending on where they are serving or their personal circumstances.
You are likely to start off training in a multi-person room, or a single room that might have shared ablutions. Once you have finished your initial training you are more likely to have your own room, which might be en-suite, and will be in a block with other soldiers. Think of a block of flats or a university halls of residence. If you have a long-term partner or family, you could live in a house which would be provided near your place of work.
Accommodation is paid for directly from your wages and the cost depends on what kind of accommodation you have, but is really cheap compared to private renting.
Of course, you can always live in your own house if you wish and lots of soldiers do just that. There are even incentives for service personnel to help them buy their own place.
