Hey Sam, that is a really good question. I think for me, the two things I appreciate most in my colleagues are trust and humour.
Trust is such an important part of our job as we often have to rely on each other to stay safe. This trust extends from never needing to lock the door of my house when I lived on base to shooting weapons in close proximity to each other. We go through training and situations that make us inherently close to each other.
And I say humour because it is the bedrock of most of our relationships with each other. When it is cold and wet and you are tired and hungry, it is often the humour of your colleagues that will get you through it.
