I'm interested in the military police but I'm unsure what would be right for me, I'm currently doing my A levels and would like to get a better understanding on what life is like in the roles, what support there may be, what the process of joining is like and a more in depth run down on preferred qualifications for the role
As an Officer in the Royal Military Police (RMP) you are both a British Army Officer and a Police Officer. You command a highly skilled platoon of Military Police Soldiers and support the wider Army, exercising throughout the UK and abroad, as well as deploying on operations all over the world. Officers would be expected to do more of the personnel management whereas, generally, soldiers do more of the day-to-day policing work.
Whether you’re overseas or at home, you’ll conduct complex investigations, using your outstanding training. Specialist courses in Serious Crime Investigations and Close Protection expand your knowledge, along with civilian qualifications. With new challenges every day, it’s a fascinating and varied role.
Key responsibilities
The qualifications required are listed on the Army Jobs website and all training you need for the job will be provided to you when you start your specific RMP job role.
Hope that helps.
