What would make you trust someone new in your unit?

That's a great question. Trust is so important between soldiers.
I think the best place to start is the Army's values. If you can demonstrate those in everything you do, people will trust you. They are:
- Courage
- Discipline
- Respect for others
- Integrity
- Loyalty
- Selfless commitment
When you first arrive at a unit, get to know people, help them when you can and be honest. People will very quickly become friends if they take the time to get to know each other.
