Commonwealth nationals are eligible to join the British Army, and applications open on a rolling basis subject to an annual intake cap, so availability varies and applicants should regularly check the official Army recruitment website (www.jobs.army.mod.uk) for the latest opening dates.

The British Army accepts applications from Commonwealth citizens once the opportunity is opened at any time through its online recruitment portal. Applicants must meet the Army’s age, fitness, medical, security, and English‑language requirements and must be prepared to travel to the UK at their own expense to complete assessment. If successful, candidates are offered a job and the Army provides visa sponsorship so they can enter the UK for Phase 1 training. Once enlisted, Commonwealth soldiers receive the same pay, accommodation, and benefits as all other British Army personnel.
