Soldiers are always training to be ready to fight in a warfighting role, but being 'deployed' does not always mean that you are going into a war. The Army has many other reasons for deploying including humanitarian aid, peacekeeping, and disaster relief. Currently, soldiers most commonly deploy on training exercises.
