Physical standards before basic training

There’s a lot of information on the running standards and tests. However during my research I haven’t found any specific information about physical advice for basic training. How many pushups,pull-ups and sit ups should you be able to do to make basic training as comfortable as possible

    Hello, Great question!

The physical standards of the Army now have been lowered. The test known as the SCR (Soldier Conditioning Review) has replaced the old fitness test. The SCR consists of 2km run (max 12:00 mins), Pull ups (Attempted), Deadlift (50kg+), Med ball throw (2.7m+), Long jump (2.7m+) and 100m sprint (0.20 secs - 0.40 secs). From what I can re-call.

My best advice would be to train to your best abilities, from the above requirements if you can meet those or even beat though requirements it can make this review comfortable. However we do a large variety of Physical training. No matter of what you get on the SCR, the Physical Training Instructors will be there to assist you if needed throughout Basic Training onwards.

    I hope this helps!!
